The territorial conflict between Thailand and Cambodia has lasted for many years. The bone of disagreement is the area of the historical temple of Ta Moan Thom in the northwestern part of the border and the surrounding jungle. The full dimension of the border between these countries is 817 km. There have been incidents at the border for a long time. In May this year there was a fire exchange between army patrols of both states. As a result, a Cambodian soldier was killed. On July 16th, a Thai soldier stepped on a mine and lost his leg. Thais accused Cambodia of perfidiously planting mines on the Thai side. Cambodia, on the another hand, explains the incidental by the fact that a soldier had mistaken his way, inadvertently crossed its territory, and entered an old mine from the time of the Cambodian civilian wars.
