The primary dense torpedo on U.S. Navy submarines is [Mk 48](https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torpeda Mark 48). Although the pedigree of this weapon dates back to the early 1970s, it is systematically modernized, which makes it nothing like a predecessor from more than half a century ago. However, any method solutions utilized in modern Mk 48 are a bit mouse-frying. Suffice to mention distant control over a classical line and a combustion engine with a fuel-fuelled piston engine [Otto II](https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto II (fuel)) (monopropellant, or propellant, which does not require the usage of an additional oxidant). In 2016, after a twenty-year break (!), the production of this combat agent was resumed in the Mod 7 variant with a digital sonar called the Common Broadband Advanced Sonar strategy (CBASS).
