The British Ministry of Defence noted in its fresh intelligence update that Russia has seen a evidence increase in the number of disabled men aged 31-59 in the last 2 years.
The analysis of the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund, conducted by the independent Wirstka portal, indicates that between 2022 and 2023 this figure increased by 507,000, reaching 1.67 million, an increase of 30% compared to the erstwhile year. This is the biggest increase in 8 years, erstwhile it started collecting data in this category.
According to the Russian demographers who spoke to Wiorstek portal, this crucial increase in the number of disabled men is most likely linked to the increase in the number of warables, which is almost surely the consequence of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Next to disabled men are besides killed
The British Ministry of Defence underlines that most of the 335,000 casualties suffered by the Russian armed forces in Ukraine are injured soldiers. It has besides been noted that the average regular number of casualties among Russian soldiers has increased since the start of the 2023 offensive, peaking at 983 casualties per day, which is the highest rate since the beginning of the conflict.
The Ministry notes that this evidence increase in the number of people with disabilities and injured soldiers will have a crucial impact on the Russian medical and social benefit system, suggesting long-term consequences for the Russian society and the state resulting from the armed conflict in Ukraine.
Russia's Quests
Russia seeks to extend its influence in the territory of the erstwhile russian Union, as is seen in its actions in Georgia in 2008 and the annexation of Crimea in 2014. The war in 2022 is simply a continuation of this policy, with the aim of continuing to dominate Ukraine and its possible integration into Russia.
