As it turns out, the Civic Coalition wants even more power in the structures of the city. The president of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, refuses to agree to this. In what direction is the situation heading?
The Civic Coalition Club (KO) in the City Council of Gdańsk presented its recommendations to the Presidium of the fresh word of office of the City Council of Gdańsk during a gathering outside Nowy Town Hall at Wała Jagiellońskie Street. Alderman Elekta, Agnieszka Owzarczak, and Mateusz Skarbek as Vice-President, were unanimously recommended to be the president of the City Council of Gdańsk. Kamila Błaszczyk was the club's fresh vice-president and Łukasz Bejm was secretary.
This besides happened during the inaugural session of the City Council. Mateusz Skarbek was elected Vice-President of the Council. Agnieszka Owzarczak and Mateusz Skarbek will now represent KO at the RMG Presidium.
Citizens' Coalition Proposals
KO besides presented fresh ideas on the Council's work. Agnieszka Owczak stressed the changes to the existing committees and proposed the creation of fresh ones specified as the Committee on Mobility and Transport and the Committee on the Environment, Climate Protection and Ecology. Changes in the number of committees are besides planned.
Piotr Borawski, erstwhile deputy president of Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, resigned from office the day before the announcement of the recommendation. His decision was motivated by ‘essential reasons’, which suggests tensions within the framework of the erstwhile cooperation with the club Everything for Gdańsk (WdG). Despite his resignation, Borawski presented a imagination of cooperation for the next 5 years, including construction of fresh housing and renovation of municipal resources, as well as solutions in urban infrastructure and greenery.

Rasp between KO and WdG
Borawski and KO put forward concrete proposals for cooperation by president Dulkiewicz, but the President's consequence suggests a pursuit of the position quo. This calls into question the anticipation of reaching an agreement. Borawski stressed that KO does not agree to the current situation and there is no agreement yet on the authoritative coalition with WdG.
KO's negotiating proposals presume greater work for city affairs and propose any changes in city management. However, Borawski did not confirm whether he would return to the post of deputy president if an agreement was reached.
The situation in the City Council of Gdańsk and the negotiations between KO and WdG point to crucial differences in approaches to city management that may affect the future of the political scenery of Gdańsk. Will the KO and the WdG find a way to cooperate, or will differences of opinion obscure the chance for constructive cooperation? Time will tell.
