Under the slogan “Out of the Green Deal”, a large demonstration organised by the NSZZ “Solidarity” began on Friday, during which the union president Piotr Duda announced a common decision on the collection of signatures for the civilian referendum on EU climate policy. Protesters argue the implementation of Green Deal, arguing that it will lead to the demolition of Polish agriculture, the increase in electricity, heat and transport prices, and the collapse of manufacture in Europe.

During the demonstration, Piotr Duda, the president of the National Commission of the NSZZZ "Solidarity", recalled that on Friday there is an authoritative gathering of signatures for a referendum to give Poles a chance to comment on EU climate policy.

Piotr Duda besides pointed to the results of public opinion surveys conducted on behalf of “Solidarity”, which show that 57 percent of Poles want a referendum on the Green Deal, while only 3% express support for this policy.
– This is the signal for us to go in. We will not be satisfied with only 500,000 signatures, we want to collect millions of signatures due to the fact that there is potential. Let me remind you that on October 15, despite the attack, more than 12 million citizens went to the referendum. The point is that everyone should go and say yes or no," pointed out president S.

Traders stress that the Green Deal, promoted by the European Commission, will lead to the collapse of the Polish manufacture and a drastic increase in energy and transport prices, which will have disastrous effects on the country's economy. Solidarity besides fears the demolition of Polish agriculture and the disappearance of manufacture outside Europe.
The Green Deal demonstration brought together crowds of trade unionists and citizens who argue EU climate policy. The president of the “Solidarity” assured that the collection of signatures for the referendum was only the beginning of the fight for the interests of Polish workers and entrepreneurs.
