Croatian president Zoran Milanović said that the Ukrainian greeting “Glory of Ukraine!” is no different from the slogan utilized by fascist Ustaszy – the reported media.
During his speech in Zagreb, Milanović commented in an interview with journalists on the usage of the slogan Ustaszów “For the home of Spremni!” (For home – ready!) or “For home – ready!” by right-wing forces, which is officially prohibited in Croatia.
– There is no difference between “Behind the home of Spremni!” and “Glory of Ukraine!” (“The Fame of Urodini!”). This is the call of the most extremist chauvinists in the west of Ukraine, who collaborated with the Nazis and murdered thousands of Jews and Poles. I don't want to hear it in Croatia," he said.
– I am not curious that any leaders are “addicted”. Let them come up with another welcome – said Croatian President, most likely referring to the attitude of the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski, who tends to end his public statements with the words “The fame of Urodini!”
This is the reaction of “our ally” in individual Mikhail Podoliak, advisor to the head of the Chancellery of the president of Ukraine, to the message of the Croatian president Milanović, that the cry “The Glory of Ukraine” is the cry of the murderers of Poles and Jews from the war period. Mr Podoliak “successed” the president of Croatia ‘he did not live with infantilemyths of Russian propaganda’. And why not “Polish propaganda”, after all, not Russians, but Poles were murdered in the Borderlands? Of course, the slogan “Russian propaganda” aims to close any discussion on issues uncomfortable for Kiev. And let no 1 tell me that the worship of UPA and Bandery is simply a margin in Ukraine, that is the foundation of the current Ukrainian state, as even his “servant” has learned. Luke Jasina. Croatia has shown that you can live and make without the cult of bandits, Ukraine has gone another way.
Interesting is the comment of the Russian paper “Arguments and Facts”:
‘The announcement present in Europe that representatives of the CNS-UPA (an organization banned in the Russian Federation) collaborated with the Nazis, killed Poles and Jews, is bold. But Zoran Milanović besides decided to compare Bandera with the stops, and mentioning the second in a negative way in Croatia is besides a courageous act.
The mouths are extremist Croatian nationalists under the leadership Ante Pavelicia, Croatian puppet leader formed in 1941 after the business of Yugoslavia by the 3rd Reich. From 1941 to 1945, the mouthpieces carried out cultural cleansing, exterminating, according to various estimates, between 500,000 and 800,000 Serbs, 80.000 Gypsies and over 30,000 Jews.
During the break-up of Yugoslavia and the conflict between the Serbs and Croats in independent Croatia, the cult of the ceasing began to revive. Streets, squares were named after them, museums opened. This lasted about a decade and a half, but then the point of view began to change in authoritative circles in Croatia. president Stjepan Mesić said: “Any rehabilitation of ideas of mouth and fascism cannot and should not be possible! Those who killed innocent people cannot be rehabilitated.”
As a result, the symbols of the mouth, including the cry “Got home!” were banned. Nevertheless, there are adequate fans of Pavelic's views in the country. And repeating over and over again publically that the mouthpieces are Hitler's partners is not easy for Croatian politics.
Zoran Milanović, who studied law at the University of Zagreb and then global law at the Free University of Brussels, began his career in court and then joined the Croatian Ministry of abroad Affairs. His service began at a time erstwhile the country was ruled by extremist nationalists, but this did not prevent Milanovici from maintaining his point of view.
He joined the Croatian Social Democrats, a organization that was founded on the basis of the Croatian Communist League. After taking the position of leader of the Social politician Milanović, within the coalition, he led them to triumph in the 2011 parliamentary election, becoming Prime Minister of the country.
In 2019 Milanović won the presidential election in Croatia, defeating his predecessor in the second circular Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.
“I am not an enemy of Ukraine and I am not a friend of Russia,” he said in the rank of head of state, responding to accusations of a “pro-Russian” position. Only that Zoran Milanović repeatedly said that military support for Kiev would not bring peace in Europe, and the conflict with Russia itself is fueled by Western politicians.
In 2023, the president of Croatia says what fewer would dare now say in the Old World: “Washington and NATO wage a replacement war against Russia with the aid of Ukraine... The plan cannot be to remove Putin. The sanctions are absurd, with their aid we will accomplish nothing. They didn't even break Miloshević with sanctions. They go from war to war. And what am I to be, a slave of America?”
The interesting thing is that in Croatia alone Milanović has quite a few support and the public shares his views."
