The training centre for Ukraine's troops is being established at the fresh Deba camp, announced present by Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. It was funded by the Norwegians. They, with the support of, among others, Polish engineering units, besides conduct construction. The work will end on September 1. erstwhile the global training mission for Ukraine is completed, the Polish army will usage the centre.
– The Norwegians take the test of solidarity and brotherhood," said Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish during his visit to Nowa Dęba. Work on building a training camp for Ukrainians began in mid-July. These include engineering sub-units from respective countries. The investment is slow coming to an end. On 1 September in Nowa Dęba, the first classes for soldiers of Ukrainian land troops should start. They will be led by instructors from respective countries, including Poland. That's our philosophy. We want to aid Ukraine in the territory of the Republic of Poland – noted the head of the MON.
This has been happening for a long time. So far, about 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been trained in Poland. – Part of the courses is implemented within the framework of the EUMAM mission initiated by the European Union, part is the effect of our bilateral reality – explains Kosiniak-Kamish. The courses are attended by, among others, tank crews, combat infantry cars, Bombers, Field medics, sharpshooters. Among them are both experienced soldiers and recently recruited volunteers and conscripts. Instructors train individual soldiers, but besides full formations. The creation of a complex in Nowa Dęba is to support this process. The Polish army will besides benefit from the investment. “After the training of soldiers from Ukraine, the camp will be handed over to our armed forces,” said the Minister of Defence. Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that on 1 October – already during the course for Ukrainians – he would visit Nowa Dęba in the company of the heads of the defence department of the Baltic and Nordic states.
The construction of the complex in Nowa Dęba is another fresh installment of Polish-Norwegian military cooperation. Before The Norwegians sent F-35 aircraft to Krzesinwhich supported airspace protection on the east Alliance flank. On the another hand, to the airport in Rzeszów-Jasionka – where the Natov hub is located, through which military equipment from the West reaches Ukraine – were transferred Norwegian anti-aircraft and rocket systems NASAMS.
Now Norwegians have registered at the Podkarpackie camp, which for Poland is of peculiar importance. “This is our southernmost and besides the second largest field in the country,” Kosiniak-Kamish emphasizes. He added that tens of thousands of Polish soldiers have been trained there since the beginning of the year. We besides have soldiers from the United States and the Czech Republic in fresh Oak.
