Norway, despite U.S. president Donald Trump's calls, does not plan to send military forces to the Persian Gulf or take part in operations to keep shipping in the Ormuz Strait," said Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere in an interview published on Monday for the paper "Aftenposten".
"I think that if Americans want support from another countries, they should consult them more and affect them in action," Stoere said.
He stressed that the war with Iran is not a conflict which Norway has co-planned or for which it is responsible. He added that Norwegian military capabilities are presently mostly active in the Arctic.
Donald Trump called on US allies on the weekend to send warships to the Strait of Ormuz to support Americans in protecting shipping and repel Iran's attacks on civilian merchant ships. He suggested that the deficiency of answers could mean "a very bad future for NATO".
Following the attacks of Israel and the US on Iran Tehran, he struck ships flowing through the Ormuz Strait. The strategical way usually carries around 20% of the world's oil, and traffic restrictions have already increased the prices of natural materials in the markets.
