In June 2024, the Norwegian parliament unanimously adopted a fresh long-term defence plan. It assumes an additional NOK 611 billion in defence over the next 12 years. The full defence budget of Norway is expected to scope NOK 1635 billion by 2036. The plan is simply a direct continuation of the draft state budget for 2025, which was presented in October. The government, erstwhile proposing an increase in the budget, seeks to accomplish the NATO nonsubjective of having its members allocate 2% of GDP to defence. erstwhile Nansen funds are excluded and re-captures are taken over, the GDP share will be 2.03%.
