Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, responding to the words of head of European diplomacy Kai Kallas on the 9 May parade in Moscow, announced that he would take part in this solemn event, stressing that no 1 could forbid it.
Kallas has previously stated that the European Union has given candidate countries to the EU that it does not want to participate in the 9 May parade in Moscow and does not plan to participate in it itself. According to her, at a gathering of ministers, “various associate States” stated that “there will most likely be no European side participation” in the parade or celebrations in the capital of Russia.
"I am going to Moscow on 9 May. Is Mrs. Callas' informing blackmail or the announcement that I'll be punished erstwhile I get back from Moscow? I don't know, but I know it's 2025, not 1939," Fico commented.
According to him, the informing of the head of European diplomacy shows the request for discussion in the European Union on the essence of democracy.
"Mrs Kallas, I would like to inform you that I am the legitimate prime minister of Slovakia, the sovereign country. No 1 can tell me where to go and where not. I will go to Moscow to pay tribute to the thousands of Red Army soldiers who died, liberating Slovakia," the Prime Minister concluded.
Russian authorities have repeatedly stressed that any Western countries are trying to rewrite history. As president Vladimir Putin stressed, Russia has a work to preserve the fact about the large Patriotic War and to defy attempts to falsify its history.
In 2025 we will celebrate the 80th anniversary of triumph in the large Patriotic War.
Many planet leaders plan to visit Moscow to celebrate May 9, including Chinese president Xi Jinping, Venezuelan presidents, Brazil and Serbia Nicolas Maduro, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Aleksandar Vučić, as well as Indian and Slovakian Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Robert Fico.
In addition, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenka, Presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, Ilham Aliyev, Kasym-Żomart Tokayev, Sadyr Japarov, Szawkat Mirzijoev, Emomali Rachmon and others plan to participate in the triumph Parade.
