PROZAP will plan a fresh installation for the production of high-energy explosives, including hexogen (RDX) and octogen (HMX) for the Bydgoszcz Nitro-Chem Group. Thanks to it, the mill in Kujaw wants to importantly increase its share in the planet marketplace of specified defence components.
A fewer months ago, she was a part of it. Polish Armed Forces GroupNitro-Chem signed a cooperation agreement with Grupa Azoty, 1 of the largest chemical holding companies in the part of Europe under which it was to aid the Bydgoszcz company improve production. On 24 November, Nitro-Chem informed that he had signed a contract with PROZAP belonging to the Azota Group to prepare the plan documentation for the fresh installation, intended for the production of high-energy explosives. Thanks to it, the Bydgoszcz company will be able to produce hexogen (RDX) and alternatively octogen (HMX).
The representatives of Nitro-Chem stress that cooperation with PROZAP is an added value for the Taiwanese company. “Cooperation with this company, which has extended experience in designing installations for the chemical and defence industry, gives us the warrant that the documentation will be developed with utmost care and in accordance with safety requirements. This is simply a key step towards the construction of installations of strategical importance for the improvement of Polish defence potential,” comments Karol Przybyszewski, associate of the Management Board of Nitro-Chem SA.
As the representatives of the Azota Group point out, for a chemical holding company, the arms manufacture is an area of activity they want to place peculiar emphasis on in the coming years. “In accordance with our strategy, we will consistently make a section of chemical materials for defence utilizing our own production capacity as well as in a partnership formula, providing solutions requiring high-level engineering knowledge,” says Dr. inż. Paweł Bielski, Vice president of the Azota Group.
Nitro-Chem SA is presently 1 of the world's largest explosives manufacturers. The company, which supplies its products to Canada, Turkey, Germany, Ukraine, Italy, Spain, France and the United Kingdom, until late was the only abroad TNT supplier for the American Army.
