Nicodemus Glapka from Krajenka, the region of Złodwów, turned out to be the best in Poland! He won 1st place in the nationwide legislature of Poland competition, entitled "Letter to Dad". Senator Adam Szejnfeld organized the competition in the North Wielkopolska. Nicodemus' letter was chosen as the best among—attention—over 2,500 works!
W The legislature held a gala for the announcement of the results of the Polish legislature competition entitled “Letter to Dad”. The competition is aimed at students and students of grades IV and V of primary schools. This year's 7th edition (the competition is held all 2 years), proved to be unique for Northern Wielkopolska, as the first prize winner was the student from the election territory of Senator Adam Szejnfeld – Nicodemus Glapka. Bravo, applause, applause! – said happy Senator Szejnfeld in Warsaw.
I sincerely congratulate Nicodemus and his wonderful grandparents, who rise Nicodemus, the triumph in the competition, but at the same time I thank the members of our jury at Pile very much, which included Mrs Teresa Kasior, Mrs Kamila Łanska, Mr Rafał Zdzierela and Mr Maximilian Ryżek – This is Senator Szejnfeld, president of the Pile jury. The work on the selection of our territory winners and winners was not easy and took quite a few time. I am very glad that the independent chapter at the national level in Warsaw shared our opinion and honored Nicodemus Glapka with an honorary first place in the legislature Competition entitled “Letter to Dad” – added Senator of North Wielkopolska.
You can be from Szamocin, just like me and become an MP, a Euro MP, a senator, even a minister. Now we see that you can be a student from Krajenka and be a winner of a nationwide competition. There are no boundaries for the brave, no barriers, no obstacles! – emphasized Adam Szejnfeld, erstwhile mayor of Szamocin City and Municipality, and now Senator of the Republic of Poland, organizer of the legislature “Letter to Dad” competition in Wielkopolska North.
Nicodemus Glapka is presently a pupil of the 5th class of Maria Konopnicka Primary School in Krajnka. The chief of the school is Mr Andrzej Pietrzak and the teacher leading Nicodemus in the competition is Mr Szymon Rogowicz. Nicodemus's success is besides delighted and enjoyed by Mr Stefan Kitla, Mayor of the Town and Municipality of Krajenka.
More than 2 100 and forty letters from thirty-five primary schools from the full constituency have been reported to my office. It was a evidence on the Polish scale. Reading them was so a titanium work, but besides a sense of touching very different matter, very delicate, completely personal. This competition is unique due to the fact that children compose a letter to their father, and in his absence, to their guardian, specified as his grandfather. This is not any school paper, but a sincere expression of your personal, frequently intimate feelings – concludes Senator Adam Szejnfeld.
"Someday I would like to be as hard-working as Grandpa and make things. I only have this grandfather, not another. Grandpa tries to aid me with everything he can. I know Grandpa loves me” – this is the final fragment of the Pilski letter of the recipient from Krajenka, Nicodemus Glaka.
The participants of the competition received thanks and congratulations from the president of the Committee on Family, elder and Social Policy Senator Jan Filip Libicki. He stressed, that joining the competition was not easy, due to the fact that courage was needed to give the letter to the judgement of many readers – senators, members of the jury – it was essential to show your insides to strangers.
The Marshal of the Polish Senate, Prof. Tomasz Grodzki, addressed the participants of the competition, saying: “Someone is always a winner, but in this competition all are winners. You are the most important. You decided to make your letters public, this intimate form of father-child relationship. It was an act of courage on your part. According to the Marshal, it is not easy to describe this simple love and relationship. In his speech, he pointed out that the letters repeated the desire for the father to work a small little and spend more time with his child. He added that the work of the jury was highly difficult, and any letters were highly touching and emotional. There were even letters to the fathers who had left. – he added. I believe that the wisdom of the Polish household will be borne by you in the relay of generations – said the Marshal of the Polish Senate, Prof. Tomasz Grodzki. He announced that the competition would proceed and asked students to encourage younger colleagues to participate in it in the following years.

The organizer of the “Letter to Dad” competition at national level is the legislature Committee on Family, elder and Social Policy and Senator Adam Szejnfeld at Pilski territory level. The competition takes place under the honorary patronage of the Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child. 2,500 works from over 450 schools from all over Poland were sent to the competition in the current edition. The most work was reported from Senator Adam Szejnfeld District. The aim of the competition is to direct public attention to the function of the father in the life of the child. The competition is addressed to students in the 4th and 5th grades of primary schools, whose task was to compose a letter on ‘Who Is and What Dad Means to you’.
The legislature gala was attended by region phase winners and their fathers or guardians and senators. besides present was the Ombudsman of Children's Rights and Minister, Head of the legislature Chancellery. The program of the finalists of the competition in Warsaw, apart from the awards ceremony, included a visit to Parliament, a joint dinner and a visit to the Copernicus discipline Centre.
The winners of the competition were the following students:
1st place – Nicodemus Glapka from Maria Konopnicka Public Primary School in Krajnka, winner of the constituency of Senator Adam Szejnfeld,
II place – Damian Ciechanowski from the Eagle White simple School in Ostrówek, winner of the constituency of Senator Maria Koc,
Third place – Hubert Chajewski from Primary School No. 47 Kashubian Border defender Brigade in Gdańsk, winner of the constituency of Senator Bogdan Borusewicz.
