By leaning over the tragic martyrdom card of the Polish nation at the hands of Nazi OUN-UPA bands after the end of planet War II, our gaze is directed towards the south-eastern areas of present Poland. However, in order to proceed their murderous activities for so many months, the bands had to trust on an extended agent network throughout Poland.
Unknown past of CNS/UPA operations in Łódź. 1 of the biggest contact points in Poland was in Łódź on 17 Prochnika Street. In the early days of June 1947, the safety authorities detected him at Maria Tkacz and Dacio Luba's apartment[1]. These contact points were reported by CNS liaisons. Communication was maintained between Rzeszowski, Łódź and Gdańsk provinces.
Maria Tkacz, mentioned above, served as a liaison for the president of the Jarosław region. It was by command of the commander that she arrived in Łódź in the autumn of 1945, in order to organize a contact point there for Ukrainian divers. After arriving at the site, Maria Tkacz stopped at her friend's home to check in after a fewer months under a false name as Zofia Saira, for whom she received a forged ID.
In the course of the liquidation of the contact point, the mentioned Maria Tkacz, utilizing the deficiency of attention of the officers, jumped from the first level and fled to the area of Gdansk Voivodeship, where under the fresh name she continued anti-Polish activity. She was yet arrested only on August 2, 1948. By a decision of the Military territory Court in Łódź of 14 June 1949, she was sentenced to 15 years in prison.[2].
