Great events and large conflict

The two-day program convention of Law and Justice begins present on 24 October in Katowice. The event will be inaugurated by the president of Jarosław Kaczyński Party. The Convention programme provides for sessions on key topics specified as national identity, geopolitical challenges and European issues.

It is the 3rd specified large initiative of the Law and Justice, returning after conventions held before the 2015 and 2019 parliamentary elections. The party's leadership considered it essential to refresh and make a fresh political agenda.

However, what was expected to strengthen the Law and Justice in explanation in practice divided the group. Although Piotr Gliński took care of the balance, trying to reconcile the PiS factions through equal allocation of panels, interior disputes were not avoided from the convention.

Panel dispute

An example of these frictions is the panel on judicial reform. It was originally to be attended by MP Paweł Jabłoński (former Deputy Head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs and Lawyer), seen as close to the camp of Mateusz Morawiecki. Although his name was included in the published agenda, he was removed from the updated list of participants on the convention website and replaced by Zbigniew Ziobra – leader of Sovereign Poland and the main typical of the Ziobrist faction.

At the same time, Gliński managed to organize a panel which will be attended by key politicians representing various currents, including Mateusz Morawiecki, Beata Szydło, Mariusz Błaszczak and Joachim Brudziński, and will be moderated by Paweł Kiebernaker.

The controversy among any PiS politicians besides sparked Jack Kurski's participation in the convention. Although it was not on the first agenda, it was added to it after it intervened straight with president Jarosław Kaczyński. According to critics, the return of Kurski symbolizes the continuation of the kind of politics that contributed to the failure in the fresh elections.

The composition of the panel on the revision of the Constitution besides raises objections among any PiS politicians. The reservations are powerfully based on the political composition of the participants, including Tobias Bocheński, Zbigniew Bogucki, Przemysław Czarnek (as moderator), Jerzy Kwaśniewski, Julia Przyłębska, Krzysztof Szczucki and Marek Wróbel.

Critics complain that specified a chosen group is not conducive to substantive and serious discussion of changes to the Basic Act. This is problematic due to the fact that the panel on the Constitution was to be 1 of the flagship and most crucial points of the full convention.

Potential candidate for Prime Minister

The clashes between the camps of Ziobra and Morawiecki supporters besides constitute an asumpt to discuss a possible candidate for Prime Minister for the Law and Justice. Among the names are Tobias Bocheński, Przemysław Czarnek and Mateusz Morawiecki.

The last OGB poll showed an increase in support for the Civic Coalition to 38 percent, with 29 percent for the Law and Justice. The survey suggests that the ruling coalition could keep power by moving from a common list.
