Independent left-wing politician wins presidential elections in Ireland

Catherine Connolly, an independent left-wing MP of the Irish Parliament, and since 2020 his Deputy Marshal, has won the presidential election in Ireland. Her candidacy was supported by a broad coalition of left-wing parties.
