As shortly as next year, the precision equipment of the Niewidów Sp. z o.o. will launch the production of 155 mm artillery ammunition. The company which is part of the Niewiadów SA Group announced that on 13 March it signed with Konštrukta manufacture from Slovakia, 1 of the European leaders in the industry, an agreement to supply a production line of large caliber ammunition.
The request to increase the production capacity of ammunition, especially large caliber, is said not from now on. In December last year, the alleged Ammunition Act, which will enable the creation of a strategy for financing the production of missiles and replenishment of warehouses and maintenance of reserves. On Friday 13 March, the authorities of the Niewiad Sp. z o.o. precision equipment plant informed that they had signed a contract with the Slovak company Konštrukta manufacture to supply a technological line for 155 mm caliber ammunition production. Last year the company declared that it wanted to produce ammunition for Krabs and K9, or 155 mm caliber missiles.
Specialists stress that Konštrukta Industry, the sister of the Slovak maker of artillery systems, Konštrukta Defence (the largest in this part of Europe after the Steel Wola Hut), is the only company in the Old Continent presently producing modern lines for filling shells of 155 mm caliber ammunition with explosives. The blind line is due next year. The Polish company does not disclose the value of the contract.
Why the Blind? Founded in 1920, the Joint Stock Company NITRAT, which present operates under the name of the Equipment of Precision Niewiadów Sp. z o.o., in the interwar 20th anniversary, was 1 of the largest producers of TNT in our country. Unfortunately, during planet War II, Germany exported the technology lines installed in Niewiadów into the 3rd Reich. After the war ended, a company without the essential technology base was assigned to the Predom group, in which as a precision production company it was engaged in the production of household items, Christmas decorations and canoes. In the mid-1960s, the most crucial products of the company were caravans, with which it is associated to this day.
However, the start of civilian production did not mean that special-purpose products were abandoned in Niewiadow. Although to a limited extent, components for artillery ammunition and mortar grenades and tank ammunition were manufactured here during the communist period. This production continued after 1989.
There are many indications that the Institutes of Precision Equipment of the Blinds sp. z o.o. see the possibilities of improvement not in the production of mixers or caravans, but bombs, grenades, grenade launchers and multicalibre ammunition. The company already manufactures 120 mm tank and mortar shells and smoke grenades and 152 mm artillery ammunition to a limited extent. It is with multicalibre missiles that has advanced hopes.
