Arctic Endurance without extension

According to the assumptions, Arctic Endurance was to be implemented from Friday to Sunday as part of the exploratory initiative of European states coordinated by Denmark, and Germany's decision to send troops was made on Wednesday. Despite speculation from German media about a possible extension of the mission, the military were informed of their return as early as Sunday morning, and the full operation ended after 44 hours.

It was officially indicated that the mission had ended earlier due to adverse weather conditions which prevented the continuation of the planned exploratory activities.

Trump scares customs

On Saturday, Donald Trump announced the introduction of 10% tariffs against 8 European countries in consequence to their opposition to American claims concerning Greenland. He announced that in June the rates would emergence to 25 percent and stay in force until the agreement on the acquisition of the island, which is the autonomous territory of Denmark, was concluded. The fresh tariffs are intended to cover Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, large Britain, the Netherlands and Finland.

The president of the United States accused these countries of bringing about a dangerous situation, as he said, stressing that duties are to be a means to settle the substance quickly. He besides pointed out that the United States has been considering taking control of Greenland for over 150 years, but Denmark has consistently opposed it, and the current minute has considered it appropriate to implement this concept.

On Sunday, the leaders of the designated countries reiterated their full support for the Kingdom of Denmark and the people of Greenland, while noting that the customs measures announced by Trump undermine transatlantic relations.
