German Chancellor Friedrich Merz told White home president Donald Trump on Monday that he and Europeans sitting at the table "they would like the next gathering to happen after the announcement of the ceasefire".
Merza's crucial words at a gathering with Trump
– I do not imagine that another gathering could take place without the (announced-ed.) ceasefire," Merz powerfully stated.
– Therefore, let us work on this and effort to put force on Russia, due to the fact that the credibility of the efforts we are making present depends at least on the ceasefire as a starting point for serious negotiations," he stressed. Earlier Trump introduced him as a "great leader" from Germany.
Let us remind that Zelenski appeared in Washington with the European leaders. NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French president Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Finnish president Alexander Stubb are on site.
