Germany strengthens civilian defense. ‘Plan XL’

Germany is preparing a programme to strengthen civilian defence. The government wants to devote an additional EUR 10 billion to creating a digital map of shelters, purchasing 110 000 field beds and training emergency services. According to “Bild”, the plan besides involves integrating the civilian protection strategy with the Bundeswehr and introducing civilian protection classes into schools.
