"Historic times require historical decisions," said Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Soeder in the debate before the vote. In his opinion, the present times are more dangerous than the Cold War period. Soeder pointed out the threat from aggressive Russia and the incalculability of the US after Donald Trump took power.
