Demonstration shootings were carried out at the Erprobungszentrum Unterl❌ (ESU) Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH in Unterl. Participating journalists and another invited guests had the chance to test both the classical 40 mm grenade launcher firing 40 x 46 mm LV (Low Velocity) ammunition, comparing it with the SSW40 powered by the fresh 20 x 46 mm MV ammunition. In both cases, crucial TPM-T (Target Practice Marker-Tracer) rounds were used. Steel targets were fired from 100 to 500 metres away, and to a wreck of a car standing 250 metres from the line of fire opening.
