Information about the beginning of their production was provided by Shepard. These artillery systems were ordered, under a contract signed in the spring of last year, with a number of [10 vehicles](https://defence24.pl/strong-arms/Germans-buy-haubice-na-gasienice), and a fewer months later it was decided to usage the option right to retrieve further [12 copies](https://defence24.pl/strong-arms/Germans-buy-rail-pzh-2000). The value of the contract signed with the execution of the additional contract amounted to about 375 million euros. Under the framework agreement, six PzH 2000 could be bought for about EUR 95 million. Their production will be liable for both [Rheinmetall](https://defence24.pl/strong-armoured/rheinmetall-buys-subassembly-to-production-artillery) and KNDS Deutschland (formerly KMW).
