Germany has decided to strengthen the protection of the Polish airspace in consequence to Russian drones. The government in Berlin announced an increase in the presence of the Bundeswehr and an increase in defence missions on the east NATO border.
German air force are already present over Poland with 2 Eurofighter fighters, which are stationed regular at Rostock-Laage Airport in the north of Germany. According to the dpa agency, the erstwhile mission included a fast consequence squad planned until the end of September.
Double German forces
The German Ministry of Defence announced a doubling of the number of Eurofighter fighters to 4 in the fast consequence Team. The mission, which was originally to end on 30 September, will be extended until 31 December.
A spokesperson for the government of Germany, Cornelius further declared that Berlin will intensify its support for Ukraine. Germany will besides work within the European Union to rapidly adopt the 19th package of sanctions against Russia, although no details of these plans have been given.

The incidental occurred last night from Tuesday to Wednesday during a Russian attack on Ukraine.
