Germany responds to the Polish reparation note. Can we number on compensation?

The German MFA responded to the Polish diplomatic note on the war reparations of October last year. According to our western neighbour, the case is closed and Germany will not negociate further on this matter. Deputy Minister of abroad Affairs Arkadiusz Mularczyk announces that Poland will nevertheless proceed to fight for due compensation for war losses.

The efforts to reparations from Germany have been in advancement since 1 September 2021, erstwhile Poland published a fewer hundred-page study created by the Group on Estimates of the Heights of Polish Compensation due from Germany for Damages done during planet War II. The sum of Polish losses was calculated at 6 trillion PLN 200 billion. The study was then sent to Germany, and the memo was sent to the Polish Ministry of abroad Affairs only on 3 January 2023.

Last year's study called on the German State not only to pay damages for material and intangible start-ups, but besides to settle liabilities due from the operations of the Reich Credit Funds, to repay the assets of Polish banks and credit organizations, and to return the stolen cultural goods and works of art from 1939 to 1945. In addition to Germany, the same study was received by another European Union countries for information on the grounds and merits of claims.

The position of the German Government on the note is incorrect. The issue of compensation for Poland for the outstanding effects of the IIC is open not only morally but besides politically and legally. We have an global run ahead of us, but I am certain that we will win for Poland and Poles!

Poland will proceed to search reparations

Deputy Minister of abroad Affairs Arkadiusz Mularczyk stressed during the press conference that the consequence of the German MFA is said “in a very negative and critical way” and is not based on any legal basis. He estimated that Germany was approaching a country that suffered the most severe losses during planet War II.

Arkadiusz Mularczyk announced that since the German government does not want to cooperate voluntarily, Poland will ask for aid from global organisations specified as the UN and UNESCO to aid enforce the damages due.

We want to show our partners that we are doing very professional, wide-ranging activities on the global stage, and that this is not a substance that concerns only Poland and Germany, but a wider problem, which mostly concerns Germany's deficiency of accountability with many countries that participated after planet War II on the Allied side. We remind that Poland, as 1 of the fewer countries, has not been reparated for planet War II, and Germany has paid compensation to countries not even straight active in the conflict, specified as Australia, Canada, fresh Zealand and South Africa.
