Chancellor Friedrich Merz promises to transform the Bundeswehr into the strongest conventional army in Europe. According to fresh data from the German Ministry of Defence, the popularity of service in the Bundeswehra is increasing among young Germans. From January to July, 28 percent more military personnel were employed than in the same period last year.
