Not the East, but the North. Who truly understands Russia

Soviet experience has not made Central and east Europe immune to Russia. In any of these countries, pro-Russian politicians return to power. Poland is an exception. This suggests that the current map of the region is incorrect – and obscures the sources of today's political choices.
