NewsMaker: Moldova has not recognized the “elections” for the “parliament” of the self-appointed Transnistria

Moldova has recognised the "elections" to the alleged ultimate Council of the unrecognized Transnistrian as a "challenge for sovereignty and territorial integrity" of the state, as reported on 1 December by the Office for the Reintegration of the Government of Moldova.

On Monday, 1 December, Tiraspol published preliminary results of the "elections" to the alleged Council of the ultimate Transnistrian Region, held on 30 November. The majority of the ‘mandates’, as before, fell to the ‘Renew’ organization associated with the ‘Sheriff’ holding company.

The Reintegration Office of Moldova stressed that since these alleged "elections" took place outside the constitutional framework and contrary to Moldovan law, they cannot have any legal force.
