The Ministry of Education plans to tighten the rules on the number of absences of students – the current threshold of 50% absence as a basis for non-classification was considered besides high. Draft amendment of Article 42(2) of the Act Educational Law provides that the school work will be considered unfulfilled if the student has an unjustifiable absence of at least 50% of the classes days in 1 period or 25% in the full school year. besides Article 44k of the Education strategy Act (U.s.o.) will reduce the threshold of non-classification to 25% of unjustified absences (instead of 50%). The repeal of Article 44k(3) shall mean that a student who exceeds this threshold of unjustified absence shall be deprived of the right to a classification examination. However, if absences were justified, the student will hold the anticipation of passing the exam.

Despite discussions about reducing abuse in justification (so that parents do not release children for trivial reasons), MEN does not plan a revolution in this procedure. The rules will only be clarified: the work to attend classes will be confirmed and absence will be justified at the request of the parent or full-time student (as yet).

A non-classified student – i.e. 1 whose absence prevented the issuing of a classification assessment – may get this rating in the classification examination procedure (Article 44l u.s.o.). This examination shall take place before the end of the school year. In the event of failure to join him for reasons justified, the manager shall set an additional time limit. The evaluation obtained on the classification examination is final.

Pursuant to Article 44q(1) of the u.s.o., the condition for completion of primary school is to get affirmative final assessments from all compulsory educational classes and to enter the eighth grade exam. A student who does not meet these conditions (e.g. will stay unclassified from the subject and neglect the classification exam) will not receive a graduation certificate and will gotta repeat the last class.

In short:

Ministry of Education prepares changes: if student leaves 25% of classes without justification per year (instead of 50% to date), may stay not classified.

What does that mean?
– He doesn't get an yearly grade.
– He may not take the classification examination (if he does not justify absence).
– It can repeat the class – especially in the 8th grade, unless it approaches the eighth grade exam.

There will be no revolution in justifications – inactive adequate is the request of a parent or a full-time student.
The changes will be made to the rules:
– Article 42(2) of the Act – Educational Law
– Articles 44k, 44l and 44q of the Education strategy Act
