Warsaw, 9 April 2025. – Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak and PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. announced the construction of a fresh passenger station on the Central Railway Magistral. The station will be located in Biala Rawska in the territory of Rawski (Łódź Province) and is to be commissioned by 2027.
Currently, 1 of the most crucial railway lines in the country – the Central Railway Magistral – runs through the territory of Rawsk, but the deficiency of a passenger station prevents residents from utilizing railway connections. Thanks to the fresh investment, it will take about 40 minutes to scope Warsaw and Grodzisk Mazowiecki – about 20 minutes, which is simply a competitive alternate to car transport.
The fresh station in Biała Rawska will let regular access to work and schools in the Warsaw agglomeration. Therefore, the launch of regional express machines of the Łódź Agglomeration Railway (ŁKA) is being considered, moving at a velocity of up to 160 km/h on the Opoczno Poczno Południe – Biała route. Rawska – Grodzisk Mazowiecki – Warsaw. akin solutions already function successfully in Germany.
The success of the station will besides depend on the creation of a network of bus transportation connections from Rawa Mazowiecki and surrounding towns. ŁKA, which is already developing the offer of bus transport, is ready to implement an integrated transport strategy in the region.
In addition, since December 2024 the POLREGIO train from Kielce – Włoszczowa – Opoczno – Łódź will be running, signaling a wider beginning of this way to regional traffic.
The investment in Biała Rawska is an crucial step towards equalising the opportunities of communication regions and developing modern, accessible passenger railways in Poland. In the Łódź Voivodeship there is the 4th most populated city without passenger railway in Poland-Bełchatów (53 1000 inhabitants). There is besides no railway access in Rawa Mazowiecka County.
