New! Hypocrisy in the sports department. Women in spots, men in power

The Ministry of athletics and Tourism announced major changes to the athletics Act, promising to improve the situation of women and greater participation of women in decision-making processes in sports unions. That sounds beautiful and noble, doesn't it?

But erstwhile we look at the composition of the management staff of the same ministry, it's hard not to ask yourself: isn't that hypocrisy that trumps everything?

The Ministry of athletics and Tourism is headed by the gentlemen themselves. Sławomir Nitras, Piotr Boris, Ireneusz Raś, Ireneusz Nałazek and Adam Wojtaś – they hold the controls of power, deciding the future of Polish sport. No female has a leading position, even though in explanation the ministry speaks loudly about the request to increase the function of women in sports.

Moreover, outstanding Polish sportsmen specified as Justyna Kowalczyk-Tekieli, Monika Pyrek, Magda Linette, Joanna Wołosz and Katarzyna Zillmann were active in promoting these changes. The recording of electoral spots with their participation was aimed at strengthening the coverage of women's support in sport. But how do these excellent players feel erstwhile they collide with a reality in which final decisions are made only by men?

Hypocrisy in the sports department. Is it just a decoration?

Looking at this paradox, it is hard not to get the impression that beautiful words and spots promoting sex equality in athletics are just decoration. After all, a real change requires more than just a media declaration – it requires the actual participation of women at the highest levels of governance. Unfortunately, the Ministry of athletics and Tourism lacks this.

Women in sports spots, men in government

The fact that outstanding athletes have agreed to execute in these spots is surprising. How can they believe in the reality of change if the reformers themselves do not seem to announcement that there is no female at the head of their ministry? It's a real irony that brings a grin of pity.
