New funds for farmers? The Sejm is proposing bridge pensions in exchange for transferring a farm

The government is looking for ways to stem the demographic crisis in agrarian Poland, where as many as 1 in 5 farmers is already over 65 years old. During a gathering of a Sejm subcommittee, a high-profile proposal was made to introduce peculiar bridging benefits for older farmers who decide to hand over their land to the younger generation. This fresh cash injection is intended to address the problem of meager payments from KRUS and encourage seniors to make way for their successors sooner.
