Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed the scale of the Gaza bombing, admitting that on Sunday the Israeli army dropped 153 tons of bombs in consequence to the Hamas attack. "We dropped 153 tons of bombs on various parts of the Gaza Strip yesterday, after 2 of our soldiers died at the hands of Hamas," Netanyahu said during the beginning of the winter Kneset session.

The raids were a consequence to the fire that the Israeli army attributed to Hamas, although the Palestinian group did not admit to the attack. 45 Palestinians were killed in the bombing, while the earlier attack cost the lives of 2 Israeli soldiers.

These were the most serious clashes since the US truce on October 10. According to onet.pl, a full of 97 Palestinians have already died since the beginning of the ceasefire, indicating continued force despite the existing agreement.

Diplomatic U.S. offensive

President Trump's advisors Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who met Netanyahu, flew to Israel on Monday. According to polsatnews.pl, Trump expressed doubts about the justification for Israeli attacks, while maintaining the validity of the ceasefire.

The U.S. and arabian mediators intensify their efforts to further implement the truce agreement. In the coming days, Vice president J.D. Vance is besides to go to Israel, which shows the importance the American administration attaches to stabilising the situation.

At the same time, a delegation of Hamas led by chief negotiator Chalil al-Hajja arrived in Cairo for further talks. The US is pushing for faster negotiations on the second phase of the truce, which includes a delicate issue of Hamas disarmament.

Practical truce problems

Gaza residents do not know precisely where the Israeli control region begins due to the fact that it is not physically marked. As reported by businessinsider.com.pl, the deficiency of physical markers causes confusion despite the existence of electronic maps, resulting in accidental violations.

The Israeli army reported the beginning of the deployment of concrete blocks marking the demarcation line. On Monday, the military shot down "a fewer Palestinian terrorists" who crossed the agreed truce line and approached Israeli troops - as a consequence 3 people were killed.

Tension besides raises the question of returning the bodies killed by Hamas. The group has so far released 12 of the 28 hostages, and Israeli authorities accuse Hamas of deliberately delaying the trial. According to Wppl, so far bodies have been listed in ratio 15:1 - for each Israeli hostage Hamas received 15 Palestinians, a full of 150 bodies.

Hamas announced the handover of further bodies on Monday evening, claiming he wanted to return all the bodies, but has method difficulties with their extraction. The agreement remains fragile - discussions on the second phase have not yet begun, and Hamas representatives have repeatedly declared that they will not lay down their weapons.
