Nepal – Return of the King?

In 2008, I observed the fall of the centuries-old Nepalese monarchy in Kathmandu and the expulsion of King Gyanendra Shah from the royal palace. At the time, I did not think that after seventeen years, hundreds of supporters of the restoration of the monarchy would come to the streets of the capital of Nepal. This is the consequence of a deep economical and political crisis in the country. In the background, India and China fight for influence in the Himalayas.
