Karol Nawrocki officially became president of Poland on Wednesday (6 August). He swore an oath before the National Assembly. After this part, he spoke from the platform. At 1 point he stated that "Today Poland is not on the way of the regulation of law".
Let us remind that Nawrocki in the election was a candidate supported by the Law and Justice, the organization who pushed Poland out of the regulation of law through the alleged Ziobra reforms.
Nawrocki hits Żurka and the Ministry of Justice
– It is hard to call a law-abiding state in which it does not operate and does not function legally elected national prosecutor, in which Article 7 of the Constitution says that the authorities of state power must act on the basis and within the limits of the law is unfortunately regularly broken – he assessed in the Nawrocki Sejm. The recently sworn president declared that during his presidency he would not advance or nominate those judges who, by their action, "agree in constitutional-legal order of the Republic of Poland".
He besides appealed to "the full political class" to "be aware that the judicial authority is 1 of 3 authorities in the Polish democratic system", and the judges – as he said – are from "to issue judgments on behalf of the Republic of Poland". “Judges – they must all realize this – they are not gods, they are expected to service the Republic of Poland and Polish citizens,” Nawrocki said.
Let us remind you that as early as the first week after taking office after Adam Bodnar, the fresh Minister of Justice suspended 46 presidents and vice presidents of courts nationwide. As a reason, he indicated the letter's signatures to the "neoKRS" or the fact that these judges are "neossiers". It is about those who received promotions through illegal actions of the Law and Justice.
Żurek in the fresh Morning Talk on RMF FM radio besides commented on his cooperation with the President. – Support for the Presidential Palace will be essential in key reforms (in the Ministry of Justice – ed.). I will be aware of my constitutional duties and cooperation with the Chancellery of the President," he said.
However, the minister noted that without cooperation with Karol Nawrocki, "certain reforms are possible within the remit of the minister, but will be slowed down".
