President Karol Nawrocki in an interview with “Fakt” reported that he and his colleagues are examining the amendment of the Ukrainian Aid Act. Although he vetoed a akin task earlier, current changes may prompt him to sign. As he pointed out, the parliamentary majority included his erstwhile reservations in the amendments.
The amendment prepared by the legislature provides for an extension of the legal residence of Ukrainians in Poland and a link between the payment of social benefits, specified as 800 plus, and professional activity. Nawrocki stressed that the erstwhile version of the Act was unacceptable to him, as it assumed benefits besides for non-employed people. Let us remind that on August 25, Nawrocki vetoed an earlier aid task for Ukrainian citizens affected by the war.
