President Nawrocki visited the air base the day after Russian drones repeatedly breached Polish airspace during the Russian Federation's attack on Ukraine. During the gathering with pilots and soldiers, the president emphasized Polish determination in the face of threats.
"Here we, the Polish nation, are a nation that did not fear the russian soldier in 1920 who stood at the gates of Warsaw. We are a nation that did not surrender its soul after 1945 for nearly 50 years of russian propaganda" - said Nawrocki.
Poland ready to face threats
The president referred to contemporary safety challenges, highlighting the function of NATO and Polish defence investments. "And thanks to the large Polish pilots and pilots of our allies, Poland, which is in the North Atlantic Alliance, Poland, which reaches almost 5% of the expenditure on the armed forces from our GDP, will not be frightened by Russian drones either" - he added.
"We have large pilots, large soldiers, and the head of the Armed Forces is aware of where we come from, who we are and what we are ready for" - the president concluded his message during a visit to the base.
