President Karol Nawrocki opens his residence in Jurat for young Poles. At the turn of August, 29 and 30, he will meet with people between the ages of 18 and 26 to discuss the direction in which the country is to go. Registration has already started, and applications collect the form on the President.pl website.
Two days on the Baltic Sea
The program includes sports, concerts and attractions that the law firm announces as surprises. However, the point of the event lies elsewhere in the conversation. "It will be 2 days full of sports, concerts, exceptional attractions and surprises, but above all talks about the future of Poland", announced Karol Nawrocki. The full event will take place at the presidential residence on the Helska Mierze, a place that has been associated with the summertime remainder of the head of state for decades. The deadline was set for 29 and 30 August, just before the end of the holiday.
Invitation for 1 group only
The offer is addressed narrowly. People between the ages of 18 and 26 can participate, so young adults are just entering into civic duties. Registration started on Saturday. Applications collect the form published on the President.pl website. The law firm has not yet revealed how many participants it intends to accept or according to which key it will consider the requests submitted.
President as a listener
Nawrocki describes the gathering as a conversation in which he is to be the listening party. “I want to perceive to your ideas, talk about matters that are crucial to you, look at the planet with your eyes,” he asked the invited ones. It's a reversal of a typical scene in which a politician speaks and young people are to listen. In communication with this group of voters, specified a motion is worth more than the content of the declaration itself.
Generation hard to predict
The youngest voters in respective years have been the busiest part of the electorate and the hardest to number in advance. They learn about politics mainly from the network, approach large institutions with more distance and rapidly turn distant from those who treat them like the background of the campaign. A direct meeting, without an election scene and without cameras set for polls, is an effort to build a relation for more than 1 political season. For the office of President, by definition of a supraparty, it is besides a way to contact young people beyond the logic of the current dispute. It doesn't look random either. The gathering takes place just before the beginning of the academic and political year of autumn, so erstwhile the attention of the youngest begins to be sought by each side of the stage.
Residence with pre-war pedigree
Jurata is 1 of the most recognizable Polish resorts on the Baltic, and the residence here has been connected with the office of the president since the Second Republic. The choice of this address gives the gathering a semi-official character, closer to a free conversation than a rigid conference. The coastal scenery itself matters here due to the fact that it lowers the distance between the head of state and participants.
What's left after August
The most public debate about the future of Poland is usually without the participation of those who will live in it the longest. The August gathering in Jurat is to reverse this order, for at least 2 days. Will it have a real impact on how you perceive to your youngest citizens or just a series of pictures from above the sea?
