Donald Tusk and his government must prepare for 2 years with a completely unpredictable president for their camp – he estimates “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”.

Karol Nawrocki will not be an easy president for Poland, Germany, the European Union or Ukraine – we read on Wednesday in the German paper "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" in the text entitled "Karol Nawrocki, unpredictable president".

"In Poland, the paralysing cohabitation between the national-conservative president and the leftist-liberal-conservative government will most likely continue, and may even deteriorate. Although the presidents should stay neutral besides in Poland, so far the officials have always supported individual camps, profoundly divided in terms of perception of history, present and future of the state and society" – we read.

Commentary author Stefan Locke writes that Donald Tusk and his government must prepare for 2 years with a completely unpredictable president for their camp.

Nawrocks aren't Duda.

"While the predecessor Andrzej Duda wore the nickname 'longscript' for a reason, due to the fact that he signed practically everything the Law and Justice passed during his reign, Nawrocki is different. Yes, he is politically grateful to his explorer, PiS chief Jarosław Kaczyński, but he will not obey him as much as Duda," we read.

The author of the text writes that there are many indications that president Nawrocki is leaning towards a extremist environment, specified as the Confederate, and the Presidential Palace may become the centre of the right in the future.

"These parties, which in addition to the PiS and the Confederacy besides include anti-Semite Grzegorz Braun, thanks to Nawrocki's victory, have found that they can defeat a liberal, pro-European camp with common forces. Even if they present themselves publically as quarrels, they want to usage the closest parliamentary elections to take over all power again in Poland".

According to Locke, it will not be easy to prevent this, due to the fact that Nawrocki's triumph led a quarreling government coalition into an even deeper crisis.

Difficult relations with Germany

"The relations with Germany and the EU will not be easy with this president either. Nawrocki is simply a supporter of conspiracy explanation that Germany uses the EU to repress Poland". In the election campaign, he started anti-German resentitions and promised to search German reparations – we read in "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung".

Viktoria Grossmann is besides writing about the fresh president of Poland. In her opinion, the Nawrocki presidency will besides mean hard times for relations with Germany.

"Nawrocki supports the conspiracy explanation invented by the utmost right, according to which the German government intentionally sends thousands of asylum seekers who committed crimes to Poland" - we read.
