Today, more and more couples are getting divorced or simply not choosing to enter into an authoritative relationship. Although this phenomenon has increased comparatively recently, many years of matrimony are inactive not uncommon. For this reason, a matrimony with a 50-year internship in Poland is awarded a Medal for Long-term Marriage, presented by the president of the country. Some, however, feel that this should be accompanied by financial support, and this subject has been included in discussions for any time now.

We wrote about the proposals to introduce benefits for long-term marriages in 2023. Initially, it was to be PLN 500 awarded to couples with at least 40 years of internship. The money would go to those authorized all month. Nevertheless, these proposals were not accepted. Also, the last petition for the adoption of the Marriage+ Act was yet rejected by the Committee on Petitions. Nevertheless, the thought curious some, so the next proposal was adopted somewhat differently.
In January 2023, a petition related to this was filed by Eugene Szymala, a retired legal advisor. Its author proposed that couples with a circumstantial internship receive one-off benefits granted all 5 years in the amount.

after 60 years – PLN 6,000,
after 65 years – PLN 6,500,
after 70 years – PLN 7,000,
75 years – 7,500 PLN,
After 80 years – PLN 8,000.
What is crucial is that the matrimony continues. In the justification of the petition, the benefit was compared to an honorary pension, which is due to all seniors after the age of 100 and is paid monthly for the remainder of their lives. So how did this petition turn out?
