The Natov pipeline network will include Poland

Work on connecting Poland to the Natovian CEPS pipeline is underway. This will let not only to supply allied troops in our country with fuel in the event of the outbreak of war, but besides to diversify the routes of these supplies during peacetime. The task will be prepared by the Investment Department of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and PERN.

Central Europe Pipeline strategy (CEPS) is the largest NATO pipeline strategy in Europe. It runs from ports in the Mediterranean and North Sea to military fuel retention facilities in France, Germany and Benelux and respective large European civilian airports (Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt am Main, Luxembourg and Zurich). A network of about 5200 km in full was created in the 1960s with the aim of logistically securing allied troops stationed in Europe in the event of armed confrontation with the Warsaw Pact.

After the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014, Poland made efforts to combine the national fuel distribution strategy with CEPS. In 2024, the Allied Transformation Command announced a list of key investments for NATO, which included Poland's connection to the pipeline. After respective months of negotiations, the NATO Resource Office granted Poland funds (about PLN 60 million) to plan and plan this project. present in Warsaw, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Investment Facility of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (ZIOTP) and PERN, a state-owned company that manages a network of over 2500 km of pipelines and 23 warehouse bases.
