NATO forces on Swedish territory prior to NATO membership

The government in Stockholm allowed NATO forces to be stationed on Swedish territory even before the country joined the North Atlantic Alliance to strengthen future joint operations. "We are sending a clear signal to Russia," the Swedish prime minister and defence minister said.
