On Wednesday morning on 23 April, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that he had signed a paper concerning the national mourning ordered after the death of Pope Francis by president Andrzej Duda.
– I gave a countersignate to president Andrzej Duda's decision on Saturday's national mourning – Donald Tusk said, entering today's session of the Sejm. Thus Saturday, the day of ceremony ceremonies in the Vatican, will be covered in Poland by a peculiar sign of tribute and reflection.

The Prime Minister reported that a performance was cancelled on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Bolesław Chrobry's coronation. “This biggest drone show will take place not on Saturday, but on Sunday”, Tusk announced. He called it "a very unlucky and sad coincidence."
According to the decision of president Andrzej Duda, national mourning will apply from midnight from Friday to Saturday to midnight from Saturday to Sunday. During this time, the state flags at offices will be lowered to half the mast, and amusement and mass events – cancelled or limited.
What about Saturday games? PZPN issued a message
Due to the decision of the Polish state authorities, the Football Union and Extraklasa SA confirmed that the Saturday league matches will be held according to the schedule. However, as highlighted in the authoritative communication, the meetings will be preceded by a minute of silence, and no accompanying events should be held around them.
– During Saturday games, no accompanying events should be held to guarantee that these events are dignified and subdued – the organisations provided.
