Polish tourist, caught smoking a cigaret at the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile's Patagonia, will pay a advanced punishment — 15 million Chilean pesos, or over 60 1000 PLN.
The decision was made by a court in Puerto Natales. In addition, the man was given a three-year ban on entering Chile, and the amount charged is to be donated to charity.
According to witness reports, the Polish tourist has disregarded the full smoking ban in force in the national park – it is due to fire regulations, as any spark in a dry and windy climate can lead to disaster. Despite the intervention of the park’s firemen, the Pole did not halt smoking, and he reacted aggressively, snatching a telephone from the defender and throwing it on the ground.
The man was yet captured by the reaction of another tourists and services.
