What is our “provincialism”

Our culture is not provincial, it originated on the border of 2 civilizations and adopted respective smaller cultures. Our “provincialism” began to be born during the period of partitions, but only after the Second War did it gain its fullness. So it's a fresh date.

Poland did not have a provincial culture for the Jagiellonians, nor during partitions, nor in the II Republic of Poland. Provincial became only in the Polish People's Republic Then it was hardened in the 3rd Poland – due to the fact that the conventional intelligence which created interwar Poland was destroyed first, and after the Second War it was removed from power and replaced by a fresh 1 which had small to do with continuity of thought and Polish tradition. An artificial javelin was inserted into the place of the pattern and core, which was to teardrop Poles distant for 1,000 years of their past and destruct what was old. The size of our culture was born for 10 centuries, smallness and provinciality for 44 years, but with a very Bolshevik energy.

Even before the war Polish culture, by Norman Davies named almost civilization, she was able to decision well after the inheritance of the full Republic of Both Nations, and so in 1918 a real independent state could be established that did not ask anyone's permission. Simply, educated by stormy history, Polish elites were able to talk to everyone in their language, frequently knew their literature, knew what they could anticipate and how to behave. That's all we lost after the Second War. In the breakthrough year of 1989, we saw our tragedy and our weakness. We lost everything we had in the interwar period by nature after the war. There were no elites that could embrace governments, and Solidarity, which was then a leading force, was afraid and agreed on a "round table". I heard from Polonia, but she wasn't allowed. At the time, society did not realize what kind of planet we were in, where we belong and what we should do. We believed everything. So weakness got its form and form. We were told the superiority of socialism over capitalism followed us, like a streak, but life dictated something else. We simply lacked people who could not only make an independent government, but besides explain to the nation what to do and what to change. Postwar smallness got a fresh life and extended its decades-long continuity. And it happened, as they say, even Solomon will not pour out of an empty pitcher.

With specified baggage and a state of consciousness we entered the 3rd Republic of Poland, with specified a kind we went around the world, and alternatively of bringing pearls, we brought contempt for ourselves and admiration for strangers. We started building fiction and pumping small things. I knew many people who had come a long way, gained quite a few experience, but for deficiency of material preparation they were incapable to measure what they saw and survived. But I besides met those who knew what they wanted, but were incapable to break through administrative meanders and resentment holding power. Provincialism has defended itself against any anticipation of exiting a "hole". It was, of course, not about Poland's success, but about maintaining what was and the full trough.
