Due to the activity of long-range aviation of the Russian Federation, performing strikes on the territory of Ukraine, the operation of Polish and allied aviation in our airspace began – reads the Communication of the Operations Command of Types of Armed Forces.
After a fewer hours, before 7 o'clock, the RSZ Operations Command reported on social media that ground-based air defence systems and radio-location reconnaissance systems had returned to average operating mode.
The operation of Polish and allied aviation in our airspace associated with the Russian Federation's attacks on Ukraine has been completed. Enacted ground-based air defence and radio-location systems have returned to standard operations – informed the unit.
The communication added that no breach of Poland's airspace was observed.
Operation east Zorza
In the following part of the communication, the RSZ Operations Command gave thanks to NATO, NATO AIRCOM and the Spanish Air Force – as noted, the units whose aircraft present supported safety in the Polish airspace. They besides expressed gratitude to the Netherlands Armed Forces for supporting air defence systems.
It was besides stressed that the Polish Army, according to the assumptions of the operation “East Zorza”, keeps monitoring the situation in Ukraine and remains constantly ready to guarantee the safety of the Polish sky.
Operation “East Zorza” is the Polish Army's actions aimed at strengthening the protection of the country's east airspace in relation to the safety situation abroad. It includes, among others, increased preparedness of air defence systems, monitoring of the situation and cooperation with NATO allies.
