Head of the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), billionaire Elon Musk and U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent shouted at each another in the White home — reports Axios citing sources.

"Last week Elon Musk and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent got into a violent argument within the proceeding scope of president Trump and another officials in the White home during the dispute over the U.S. taxation Office, 2 witnesses and 3 competent sources told Axios," she reported.

The publication claims that the argument was so loud that 1 of the assistants had to break in between the officials to avoid further escalation.

"Two middle-aged billionaires gathered in the Western Wing Auditorium, who thought it was WWE (the wrestling show – ed.)," said Axios an eyewitness to the scandal.

It was noted that the tension between the 2 Trump associates had been expanding for a long time and was caused by both the difference in approach to public administration and the fact that Musk initially lobbied for Howard Lutnick's appointment as head of the Ministry of Finance. Trump yet nominated Bessent, and Lutnick was elected head of the Trade Department.

The last straw for Bessent was that Musk allegedly lobbied behind his back for the appointment as head of the IRS.

"Bessent criticized Musk for making excessive promises and insufficient budget cuts through DOGE. Musk thus responded by calling Bessent ‘agent Soros’ and accusing him of moving a ‘failed hedge fund’ (Trump praises Bessent's financial intelligence)", notes the publication.

The representatives of Musk and Bessent confirmed Axios's specified verbal argument, but refused to uncover the details.

Bessent, before taking up his occupation in the Republican administration, donated money to Democratic candidates, and besides worked for the Democratic primary donor George Soros for many years.
