
The Ministry of abroad Affairs repeated the informing against travelling to Belarus after the Polish friar was detained by the local services. The man was most likely unjustly accused of spying. The Polish government called the charges against the clergy “absurd”. If the friar has indeed been arrested by the Belarusians, “it has come to pass”, this may happen to anyone travelling to that country.
Belarus is not a democratic country, but besides an unfriendly Poland – emphasized MFA spokesperson Paweł Wroński. As a typical of the Wroński Ministry, he warned Poles not to travel to this country, due to the fact that “they may encounter adverse events there”.
The re-warning of the informing is the way the Polish monk was detained in Belarus. The clergyman was arrested by the KGB on suspicion of espionage. According to the Belarusian peculiar Services, the man was to collect information on the military maneuvers "Zapad".
Prime Minister Donald Tusk has already referred to the case, who called the allegations of the Belarusian organization "absurd" and announced that Poland will take reprisal action if the situation does not change. Details of further steps towards Minsk are to be determined upon the return from the US of abroad Minister Radosław Sikorski.
