MP Holowna could have become Minister of Culture. That's why she refused Tusk

Before Donald Tusk announced the reconstruction of the government, which took place on 23 July, news appeared that Alexander Leo, the Polish MP of 2050, could be at the head of the Ministry of Culture. However, just before the authoritative announcement of the nomination, the politician refused the Prime Minister. She confessed what was the reason for that decision.


Prior to Donald Tusk's announcement of government reconstructions, there were speculations in the media about possible changes in the composition of the government. 1 of them was the replacement of Hanna Wróblewski as Minister of Culture by Aleksandra Leo from Poland 2050.

Polish MP 2050 rejected Tusk's proposal


However, the same day the Prime Minister was about to announce the changes, Alexander Leo refused to take the position. According to Business Insider Polska, this decision was due to "family reasons that prevented her from accepting the offer".

Simon Holovnia confirmed that Leo had received an offer to include the Ministry of Culture, but for individual reasons she resigned this mission. The MP herself explained her decision on TVP Info:

– It was a hard decision, I had quite a few doubts, only about my individual and household situation, but despite this, I decided that I would accept this ministry and this proposal – she confessed.

Alexandra Leo added that she had met with the Prime Minister. Like she said, it was a good gathering and a good conversation.

The messenger confessed that she was then confronted with "the brutal side of politics, which we have frequently heard of and with specified behaviours that are unacceptable to her." As she added, "it can be said that they are alternatively despicable behaviors."

She stressed that household and individual issues were the main reason for refusing to include the cultural ministers. “But besides like I said, I met with specified behaviours as in politics, in my own organization I would alternatively not meet”, she said.

She besides pointed out the paradox of women's presence in politics: "There is so much being said in politics that there are fewer of us, women, and that we must constantly fight men to find ourselves in this policy. In the meantime, it turns out that very frequently this opponent or enemy is not the man to fight for this place, yet the woman".

Ultimately, the fresh Minister of Culture was Marta Cienkowska besides a associate of Poland 2050, who has previously served as Deputy Minister in this ministry.
