After a two-hour telephone conversation with Russian president Vladimir Putin, US leader Donald Trump announced a fresh gathering of 2 leaders. It is to take place “in 2 weeks” in the Hungarian capital of Budapest.
He described the conversation as “very productive”. He added that he was movedon the prospects for ending the war in Ukraine and on exchangestrade between 2 countries after the end of this conflict.
The presidents agreed on a gathering of elder advisors to be held next week. The US delegation is to be headed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
In fresh weeks Donald Trump has greatly tightened his rhetoric at Vladimir Putin. He besides threatened to hand over Ukraine long-range missiles "Tomahawk". This issue was raised during the conversation. Putin stated that the supply of these missiles would greatly complicate bilateral relations.
It is not excluded that, under the influence of this conversation, Trump then reported that Americans cannot deplete their own resources of the Tomahawk missiles.
On October 17th this year, the president of the United States meets with Ukrainian leader Volodymir Zelenski, who stated that "Moscow is in a hurry to resume dialog only after proceeding about the "Tomahawks". He added that Russia can only be spoken “in the language of strength”.
