Moscowtimes.ru: The United States began monitoring Russian submarines in the Baltic Sea

As part of strengthening NATO forces in the Baltic, the United States has diverted at least 3 intelligence aircraft to the border area with Russia, which are able to detect and destruct submarines.

These are the Boeing P-8A Poseidon aircraft, which at the end of September this year was directed to the largest Norwegian airport Gardermoen.

In January 2025, in consequence to the threat to submarines in the Baltic Sea, the North Atlantic Alliance announced the launch of the Baltic Sentry mission.

As a result, incidents related to the cutting of submarine cables in this watershed ceased to occur.
